The Ashling Hotel is a magnificent hotel in Dublin City. Situated conveniently adjacent to Heuston Station, as well as on the Luas red line, its central location provides easy access to the city centre of Dublin, as well as the rest of Ireland - depending on your taste for exploring.

All our guests, when turning in at bedtime, appreciate the tranquil decor encountered in each of the 225 tastefully decorated bedrooms.

As you would expect, each room is fully equipped with a variety of modern essentials for the present day guest. Facilities include a direct dial phone, complimentary internet access, an in-room safe, a multi-channel flat screen television set, complimentary toiletries, facilities for making coffee or tea, and a hairdryer. Ironing boards and irons are available on request should you need it.

Facilities in superior rooms also include large rain showers, individually controlled air conditioning, and a laptop safe.

 

Location

The Ashling Hotel is situated at Parkgate Street, right on the River Liffey and across from Heuston Rail Station. Dublin's top tourist attractions are literally within walking distance. These include - among others - the Dublin Zoo, the National Museum of Ireland, the Guinness Brewery, the Old Jameson distillery, and Kilmainham Gaol.

Croke Park, the o2, and the Aviva Stadium situated at Lansdowne Road, all famous for their sporting and music concert events, are also close by. Reaching the city centre and Temple Bar area only takes about 20 minutes on foot, or five minutes by tram (Luas red line).

 

General

The Ashling Hotel is a four star hotel offering secure parking, as well as conference facilities and meeting rooms. The city centre and Temple Bar can be reached within eight minutes by bus or taxi, while the hotel itself is easily accessible regardless of whether you arrive by car, rail or bus.

All bedrooms are spacious, with most rooms featuring both a double and single bed. Other attractions include the Irish Jewish Museum, medieval castles, stunning parks and vibrant gardens to cater for each and every taste.

Other tourist attractions that are situated within walking distance from the Ashling Hotel include the following: Dublin Zoo, which is the third oldest public zoo still functioning in whole the world. Dublinia is a detailed recreation of city life as it was encountered from around 1170 A.D. to the 1600's. Four Courts - currently the centre of Irish Justice, is a classical edifice dating back to 1802. Kilmainham Goal was used between 1795 and 1924, and visiting it provides a dramatic look at imprisonment practices of the past. Lastly, consider visiting the Guinness Brewery and Hopstore to learn more about Ireland's famous beer.

The old Royal Hospital building houses the museum of modern art. The building happens to be the oldest classical building that is sill standing in its entirety since the seventeenth century. The old Collins Barracks house the National Museum of Ireland. The Old Jameson Distillery can be found in Smithfield's "Irish Whiskey Corner", and also offers the old spirit store where you can still "test" samples in the bar. The Temple Bar (an area that used to belong to the Temple family since the 1600's) was revitalised to appear as of old, creating a cultural centre combined with present day entertainment and shopping.

Art galleries, museums (including the Dublin Writers Museum), theatres, Christchurch Cathedral, Dublin Castle, Liberty Hall, the National Concert Hall, government buildings, St. Patrick's Cathedral, and the RDS Exhibition centre - for those who want to experience culture.

Outdoor enthusiasts can visit Croke Park or Lansdowne Road sports grounds, or go golfing, horse riding, or karting without having to travel far.
